Outsourced Chief Compliance Officer

Askari functions as the CCO for one of our large registered investment adviser clients. He uses his diverse compliance and regulatory background to enhance the compliance program and partner with leadership to build a strong compliance culture.An award-winning business and compliance professional, Askari is a former Securities and Exchange Commission executive who held an array of senior roles, including head of the SEC’s Atlanta Regional Office Examination Program, co-chaired the SEC’s National Risk and Examination Committee, led the National Technology Examination Program, and was a member of the National Examination Executive Governance Committee. 

His wide-ranging responsibilities for the SEC included improving the national examination program, identifying market and compliance risks, trends and issues, establishing compliance strategic plans, and providing compliance advice to chief compliance officers and senior executives to enhance their compliance programs.  

The SEC recognized Askari with an Excellence in Leadership Award.

Askari has also served as a Chief Compliance Officer at many firms and in other senior leadership roles at multiple investment and wealth management firms and regulatory consulting firms.

Askari aspires to do one good deed a day. He enjoys working smart, learning new things, reading, traveling, eating various cuisines, exercising, playing baseball, and going to the beach. Askari values his health, family, integrity, and accountability.

He obtained his B.S. in Accounting from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, and his M.B.A. from Emory University and has held Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Public Accountant designations.
